What Do Sewing and Sunsets Have in Common?

I love sunsets! Watching a beautiful sunset leaves leaves me feeling a sense of calm and peace.  Sunests are endings, but also new beginnings.  Sunsets can signal the end of a hard day, the beginning of a night of rest, and a new day to follow.    What does all this have to do with sewing?  Sewing can  also be a part of endings and new beginnings.  Taking a piece of fabric and sewing it into something new is the ending of the way the fabric was in its original state and the beginning of its new “life”–as a garment or quilt.  This new garment or quilt can also be an ending and a new beginning for someone less fortunate.  Perhaps just getting something new can give someone hope for a new beginning; a better life, and signal the beginning of the sunset ending of hard times.  Sewing and sunsets; endings and new beginnings.

This is beautiful! I love the comparison! I agree totally, too. Both sunsets and sewing are so peaceful.
